        I think Maugham`s story is not same from Aesop fable of the ant and the grasshopper the end of the story was different. the ant and the grasshopper by w. somerset Maugham, it concerns about two brothers one of whom is a dissolute waster, ``Tom``Who leave his wife and two children to enjoy himself, and the other one hard working brother `` George`` who had never take more than a fortnight`s holiday in the year for quarter. At the end the latter is enraged to discover that his `` Tom`` brother has married a rich widow, who dies and leaves his a fortune.
